A Little Walk
Botanical Garden of Ribeira do Guilherme
This is small botanical garden with easy access from a main road (EN1 – 1A). It is very quiet and uncrowded with good parking. On one side is the botanical garden, pond with ducks, and the old mill house. On the other, a “wilder” path along the river, although still very easy walking. There are picnic tables and access to rest rooms.
Special Considerations: We will decide, based on the comfort of the attendees, which trail or trails we will use.
Directions:
Coming from Ribeira Grande head north on the main road EN1-1A toward Porto Formoso. Stay on this road until just a little past Lomba da Fazenda. The park is just off a side road after you cross the bridge. If you are coming from Ponta Delgada, take the main road EN1-1A toward Lagoa. Stay on this road until just past Nordeste. Take the exit before the bridge.
